Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Brewed....
With just under 100 days until the Worboys Wedding, it was time to fly to Orlando for my bridal shower!
For those of you just joining our beautiful adventure, Mike proposed last June right before we left to backpack through Europe. Check out the video here and the full story of our beautiful adventure here!
My three older sisters, two younger nieces, mom, and grandmother worked incredibly hard to bring my high tea bridal shower to life and I absolutely loved it. The morning of the shower Hilary (my sister) surprised me with my own fascinator to match everyone else, and then we headed to The Tea Room Experience in downtown Orlando (which was also a surprise).
We snacked on blueberry scones with jam, a selection of finger sandwiches, freshly baked blueberry scones with devonshire cream and jam, some other assorted miniature pastries and each had a choice of our own loose leaf tea.
When the weather gets warmer our luck seems to change as well. Mike won the Broadway Lottery for Spongebob the Musical, and for someone who did not really grow up watching the television show, we actually really loved the show! It has a lot of magical elements to it, and an astonishing set which is so alive it might as well be its own character in the show. The music in the show was all written by different artists including Plain White T's, TI, Stephen Tyler, & John Legend, and it flows incredibly well with the storyline. I was really impressed.

Being that it was a bridal shower, of course there were fun games to be played and a token to bring home.
But of course the absolute best part of the shower was just spending time with loved ones and celebrating the event to come.

After our bellies were full of tea, it was time to head back to my sisters for gifts and more special surprises.
Traveling and living in so many different parts of the world is something so incredibly special to me, however, sometimes it can make it a little challenging for those I love to all be in one place at the same time, which is why I was so grateful for the suprise videos sent in by some wonderful people who could not join the tea party that day.
Also a giant thank you to those who sent gifts for Michael and I to start our married lives together on such a positive note. We cannot wait to add them to our home! If you want to contribute to our next adventure, the honeymoon, be sure to click here!
The shower was so much fun, and absolutely everything I could have dreamed it would be. I am actually a little sad it is over now, but that feeling is quickly replaced with excitement for the actual event happening so soon now!
The rest of my trip to Orlando was equally as fun, getting to spend some much needed time with family, including a special sister dinner night, lots of birthday celebrations, and a little wedding planning of course.
Being back in NYC I am really missing the warm Florida weather, but there have been a few nice spring(ish) days here, allowing us to go on some bike rides, cook out in Prospect Park, and even get a sunburn (even if you end up wearing a winter coat the next day).

I also was really excited to finally venture into the Palace Theater, where Legally Blonde and my favorite Laura Bell Bundy once performed. My high school self would have been freaking out and I have the 2010 throwback picture to prove just how obsessed I was (including taking my senior picture in front of it)....
In the photo above all I really remember about my first NYC trip was that the ground in Times Square was sparkly, and I took this as a sign that one day I was meant to live here...and look at me now! Never stop dreaming friends....
