the only thing getting lit this weekend are my fall scented candles

Mid Autumn Festival is here once again in Hong Kong. With Covid cases staying at 0 with the exception of imported cases in HK, things are still not in full swing yet. We are still required to wear masks in and outdoors at all times, we are being tested every week at work, technically we are still socially distanced with 4 people or less in groups, and the biggest is not being allowed to leave the country or you quarantine 21 days upon return. Because of the strict restrictions, most of celebrations have still been cancelled, including the Tin Hau fire incense dragon dance, but we tried to make the most of the season.

We did make it out to the main event lantern display at Victoria Park, and although it was very crowded, and had a huge, snaking line to get in, it was fun to feel like we were celebrating a holiday normally for a moment.

Our cute panda lantern, Nathaniel, Elinor made
Why does this bunny look like it is eating another bunny you may ask? Well.... we have no idea either.
Had to bring some mooncake to share, of course! We ended up with a lot of mooncake this year from so many sweet people, thank you so much for sharing your culture and treats with us! The park outside our home was also packed with people excited to celebrate the holiday, where we spent a little time after.

Earlier in the week, we also visited Wong Tai Sin Sik Sik Temple to see the beautiful lantern decorations they have for the holiday, and their 100th anniversary.

We also brought a moon cake to share since it was time-
There was also a beautiful lantern display a little closer to home in the park in the backyard-

Mid Autumn Festival means lots of different mall displays, and Temple Mall was no exception-
You would never guess inside this little hut was this beautiful lantern display-
A few other Fall adventures we have embarked on this month have still been very Summer-y since it is still on average like 90 degrees every day. Mike played soccer with his work buddies and we were both soaked in sweat afterward (me just from watching), but this guy killed it!

We have also been to a few new restaurants these days including-
a very local spot for Mexican food at Picoso, which we totally did not even know existed.

Some French cuisine with amazing tasting crepes from Fluer de Sel-

Had to have some Japanese Ichiran before Elinor leaves us -
and some brunchies at home-
Halloween time in Hong Kong is in full swing after 2 years! I was so excited to see the Mickey pumpkin, I almost cried.
and where there are spooks, you know something Wicked is lurking nearby....
Finally after a full year of waiting, Lets Get Wicked opened at Lion King Theater in The Wild and Mother Gothel and I are having the most incredible time singing together. (a HUGE thank you to all my friends for helping me take such amazing photos and memories). Please click HERE to watch the full show, because honestly it is one of the coolest things to ever come to Disney. Also, sorry for the overload of photos but also not sorry-
Lets Get Wicked isn't the only place to find your favorite Disney villains lurking about.
There is also the Halloween cavalcade to hang out with Mickey and his pals-

And a small interactive photo moment with some of the spooky dancers-

The decor, the treats, and of course the trick or treating may look a little different year by year, but so very excited to slowly be able to welcome these holidays back in true Disney style.
Trick or treating  2021 brought to you by ladles!
BOO-berry and vanilla swirl ice cream with chocolate Maleficent horns

This really strange blood transfusion drink, and the red one tastes kind of like spirte/lemonade with some sour in it, but will absolutely leave your mouth turned bright colors. It wasn't Elysia's favorite though.
and a classic pumpkin spice frappuccino from Starbucks while we have pumpkin spice for a very limited amount of time.
Ariel may not have her Halloween costume on, but I am still swimming with almost every other day also -

Happy (very early) Halloween and Fall, spooks!
