i didn't see anyone today, so i am wearing this again tomorrow

With Omicron cases surging throughout the city (roughly 7,000 new daily cases), we have really hunkered down, and are not leaving the house much. Technically as of now the park and other entertainment venues and things  are definitely shut until April 20 after they told us 2 weeks, 2 more weeks, 2 more weeks for a while. My contract is suppose to end April 11, so I don’t really know what is going to be happening yet. Current lockdown restrictions are no more than 2 people in a group out at a time, and you cannot gather with more than 1 household. They also moved Summer break for schools from July/August to March/April instead.

The grocery stores have been pretty impossible to find food and produce in these days because there is still a flight ban from USA, Australia, Canada, UK, and several other large countries not allowing any imports to make their way into HK. Because of this flight ban it is almost impossible to get people into HK so the likelihood we could stick around while people make their way here is a possibility but I really have no idea what is going to happen.

This lockdown has been incrediblyyyy difficult mentally for everyone, because while things seem more back to normal back home, HK is fully in 2020 all over again.

Prior to our lockdown, we were able to get some cuddles in with the cute little bunnies at Rabbitland Cafe to soothe our sad souls.

The bunnies free roam the cafe 2 at a time while you enjoy your beverages. You can also feed them.
This is Bread. Bread was my favorite.
This is still Bread. Bread is my favorite.
This is Chestnut, he is also a favorite.
Cookie and Oreo were so snuggly the whole time, it was sweet.
This is still Bread. She is still my favorite.
Oh look, it's Bread, my favorite.
Jordan was educating the bunnies on who her favorite was. It was Bread. Shocking, I know.
Not much to report as far as eating out this month, but there was a delicious lunch set at The Globe I really enjoyed with Kira.
Elysia and I also had a brunch at Mr. Wolf-
I try really hard to enjoy our time eating out because (in case you couldn't tell) I love to eat out, but we have to travel about an 40 minute journey to get into the city from where we live, and it is just too much right now.

Also with everything at the park closed, we still have to report to Disney every 14 days to take our Covid test. We took this opportunity to finish up our last Chinese New Year and Valentine's pick up.
We said our (maybe) goodbyes to the park in my only time this spirit jersey may actually see the park.
We saw CNY Goofy at the hotel handing out Lai See and greeting the guests for the end of Lunar New Year.
Also big thanks to Disney for these delicious matcha chocolates for Valentine's Day!
Valentine's Day was a pretty normal day for us since we could not really leave the house. We did have a Gal-entines celebration prior to the actual holiday complete with heart shaped pizzas, cookies, and lots of photo -ops.

Mike and I also celebrated Valentine's Day early with a little stay-cation in Sai Kung with our other married friends Holli and Justin. We stayed at the soft opening of the WM Hotel with a lovely view of the ocean and dinosaur egg shaped bathtub.
We wandered a bit around Sai Kung, which is a beach town known for its local fisherman selling their wares out of their boats. The weather was pretty cloudy and chilly the whole 3 days, but we tried to make the most of it.
We had to eat most of our meals to go back at the hotel (including to go margaritas) with all the restaurants closing at 6pm because of the Covid restrictions.
With the exception of the hotel breakfast that ended up being included that they did not tell us was included....
With our full day at Sai Kung we visited something that has been on our bucket list for a really long time, the Geopark
The High Island Reservoir was such a cool place to explore. The hexagonal columnar rock formations in Hong Kong are products of devastating volcanic eruptions about 140 million years ago and they look so neat.
It's so hard to capture the beauty in a photo, but also the water in the lake was incredibly stunning. There was a little cave nearby with some stunning Koi fish taking a swim.
The island view were absolutely beautiful.
There were all these big T shaped anchors between the water and the wall for typhoon protection, but they provided a really cool view.
Holli and Justin also rock climbed a bit to get to the top of the hill to check out the view and it was beautiful, but a bit too much rock climbing for me.
We also hiked to the beach spot on High Island.
The beach was absolutely beautiful. The sand was pillowy and soft, but it was pretty cold. The wild cows did not seem to mind though.
As if hiking all day was not enough exercise, the next full day we decided to go kayaking from Sai Kung to a private island near Sharp Island.
We also got my favorite Crunch and Munch sandwiches to have on the beach before our mandatory yoga zoom class.
Staycations are a fun way to escape reality for a minute, and I am grateful for friends who check in with us to make sure we are ok, and force us to go outside. As I said, this shut down has been tough mentally, and it doesn't help that its been a high of mid 40s and pouring down rain all week long. I have been trying to stay productive to mentally stimulate my brain by taking some new headshots and working on resumes and reels. My to do list has dwindled to literally like nothing left, but it is tricky when we are not exactly sure what our end date will be. As of now, we are still on the books to be leaving mid April, but remaining flexible to see what happens and I will update you as we know. Til then, stay safe folks!
