Merry Christmas, everyone! We have been quite busy this holiday season, especially losing a whole week to our cruise. We are very lucky to have so many visitors this year though!
My mom came in to visit from Cincinnati first, and she was here about a week before Christmas. Christmas Eve we did our usual hang at the Burrow and spend time with the family, after mom and I went to a Christmas Eve church service.
At Bethany's Burrow, they fed us delicious pulled pork and so many Christmas cookies.
We also did our own candles and carols.
Christmas morning was exciting to have our first Christmas morning at our new house! Luckily, Santa had no issue finding it.
In the afternoon we all spent time hanging at Emily's with the family.
Before Christmas came it was lovely getting to make Christmas cookies and do all the Christmas-y things!
One of my favorite new traditions was driving around looking at Christmas lights. This year we drove around Celebration area.
Mike and I had gone to
Now Snowing in Celebration also a few weeks prior, and enjoyed all the snow and treats!
After the snowfall, the church down the road was holding a live nativity, where we got to even visit with the stars of the show after the performance.
Mom and I also ventured over to Sunset Walks Christmas events where we met Santa and the gang!
Aside from all the Christmas events in the neighborhood, we also attended a few holiday parties. Christmas is such a crazy busy time, but honestly I love the hustle and bustle.
The day after Christmas we got some outdoorsy time wandering around downtown Kissimmee and visiting the park.
My mom's birthday is Dec 28, so we got to celebrate a few times this season. The first big celebration was an afternoon Christmas high tea at HighT. I have been wanting to go for a while now, so I was excited to share this. The Elf themed tea party wouldn't be complete without visits from Buddy and Jovie themselves.
Usually it's an Alice in Wonderland theme, and while it's always kind of Alice underlying, the Christmas overlay was perfect.
The food was amazing! We tried the cranberry and ginger teas, and the sandwiches and treats were all amazing.
Even though it was Elf themed, I kept my Grinch vibe going for the holidays anyways.
Also for mom's birthday we did a big stay at an airbnb and hung out with the whole family! It was fun hanging out all together in a big house, and the game room was a big hit as well.
For my moms birthday, we decorated the house in a 50s theme and played some fun games like the sticker game, which was absolute chaos.
We served up fried chicken and root beer floats for dinner!
We finished the night out with a movie in the movie room complete with popcorn and candy!
All in all, I think she had a great birthday!
Since the whole family was here, we did a few theme park days too. We had some time at SeaWorld-
One of my favorite days was the little Christmas Disney hotel scavenger hunt we went on. We started at Disney Springs and took the bus over to Polynesian Resort, where we had to stop for snacks.
Next stop, we took the monorail over to Grand Floridian to visit the giant gingerbread house.
After another small monorail journey to the entrance of Magic Kingdom, we popped on the boat over to Wilderness Lodge.
Next we took the bus to Hollywood Studios to board the Skyliner.
We took the skyliner over to Art of Animation Resort to play, and luckily finished right in time for the rain to start.
The bus ride back from this hotel to Disney Springs, I have quite possibly never laughed so hard in my life before. The top of the bus was leaking and everyone was getting soaking wet on the bus ride.
We finished the night out wandering around wet Disney Springs and making the most of our last night with my mom before she flew back to Cincinnati.
The last day with everyone, we went to a very crowded Universal day and tried to make the most of it before the crowds overtook.
It was so nice having family around all holiday season, but I am not going to lie, I am ready to hide under a rock and sleep for a week now. Happy New Year to one and all!
