Another holiday activity was visiting the Lam Tsuen Wishing Tree before it closed to fill out our treasure card for our wish for the year, and throw it into the tree.

Year of the Ox, 2021! |
Also with a little decor for the new year was
Tai Po Park.
One of my favorite things about this park is the amount of serious kite flyers and their really interesting kites. They are massive, light up, or the craziest one we saw was about 200-300 smaller kites all tied together-
It was also just nice to be in a park that was not the one right next to where we live for a minute.
When we are staying in our park nearby, we try to keep it fresh by enjoying it in other ways. One day we rented bikes and wandered around the path nearby, and found some cool new places! We also saw a huge fire (we think it might have been a warehouse?) and lots of smoke, which we watched for way too long.
Mike and I also visited Discovery Bay in hopes of visiting the beach, and ended up picnicking nearby instead.
We also went to a
pub for dinner that night got MOZZARELLA STICKS, which I have not found in months!
If we do go into the city, it's usually just for a meal or a treat these days. Some of my favorites have been-
I have been wanting to check out
Butter for awhile now, but their cakes sell out so quickly! Finally got to try the carrot cake, and now I will absolutely be back to try absolutely everything cause it was soo good!
This bubble waffle was filling with strawberry jam! They used the weirdest device to stamp the waffle once it was cooked and insert the jelly into every bubble.
Finally checked off my bucket list item of visiting
Bakehouse! This custard filled doughnut was also amazing because baked doughnuts are not easy to come by here in HK.
And a classic visit to
Roundhouse for some traditional bbq-
In other big news (also, hi, I am behind so sorry if this is late, lol), in case you missed it, the United States has a new president now. We stayed up til the wee early hours of the morning to watch the inauguration.

Currently, HK Disney has been closed for a little over 2 months now, and if you keep up with my
Instagram, you might have seen some of the projects I have been working on during this down time. The biggest one I started in August, and finally completed was my
first cross stitch. My goal was to finish it when the HKDL castle was complete, but close enough.
I also made the Small World facade out of paper because WHAT ELSE DO I HAVE TO DO?!
I have had a lot more craft time these days cause Mike has been busy between work, and filming a movie coming to Hong Kong- BattleBox. Obviously can't say too much about it yet but we're excited to see it at some point. This was Mike's first time with some speaking lines too!
But good news is, I should not have to fill the time for much longer! The HK government announced recently that if the numbers remain low as they have the last week or so (20 or less recently), then places of amusement, including HK Disneyland, SHOULD be able to open sometime after the holiday! There is no official word from Disney on an opening date, but we are hoping to hear more soon. Also being able to open would be sports facilities, movie theaters, and eating in at dining locations til 10pm (instead of the current 5pm) with groups of 4 people or less (instead of just 2). All of these places also will have to test their employees every 14 days with the new guidelines. The vaccine has not started up at all here in HK yet, but hopefully with all these positive changes, that will be the next set of news to come once the Lunar New Year holiday has settled down.
Hopefully see ya soon little fishie-
