Why worship legends when you know that you can join them
Another birthday officially goes in the books. Never did I think I'd still be here in HK for my 31st birthday, but I am grateful. I woke up to decorations left by the little birthday fairy, and a Starbucks treat. I had to work all day doing some rehearsals and meetings, but thankful to my cast mates who celebrated me with a little picnic and hang time in between.
Once the work was done, we went with our friends Holli and Justin on a little staycation at The Gold Coast Hotel in the "kid themed rooms" (lol). Our room was decorated like old school Hong Kong and the trams. It was so cute.
The room also came with a beautiful balcony!
It also came with a high tea set also geared toward children, complete with chicken nuggets, happy face potatoes, mini hot dogs, and little ham and cheese sandwiches.
We did some face, hand, and feet masks and hung out and watched our tv show together. It was a really relaxing, nice way to end the night.
The next morning, we had breakfast at the hotel, and explored the beautiful Lunar New Year decorations up in the lobby.
It was a lovely way to enter into my 31st year. What also came back just in time for my birthday was hugs! We are officially hugging and having physical contacts with characters again at HKDL. I also finally met Merida, who I was suppose to meet like 6 months ago but with all the health hurtles I was a bit delayed. It was the perfect first hug back for Mike also!
With all the restrictions lifted in HK now (besides masks), everyone has had a lot of visitors come. It's been nice to start feeling like the old HK again, pre pandemic, with the ease of travel. Before Emily's parents left to go home, we did an afternoon Godiva themed high tea with them at Hotel Icon. The food was incredible and the desserts all made entirely of chocolate were sooo rich.
