A suitcase is like a drawer without a home

Those who know me know I am not super outdoorsy, however, when you marry a Worboys, you tend to become outdoorsy. They usually go camping every Summer, and I have only been able to make it two or three times with the way life has been, however we were able to go for 9 days this year. After we returned from Europe, we had a day to repack our belongings and drive about 5 hours up to Fish Creek in the Adirondacks for camping.

My favorite part of camping is reading in my hammock, however the weather was not great the first 4 days, so I took all the time I could get.

We got our site all set up, and had some great quality time with our niece and nephew. We got in a few games before the weather got bad and we had to move the party indoors also.

(play spot the snake in the photo below...)
Thankfully the weather did eventually clear up, leaving us time for some outdoor activities together too.
The whole time we were camping we had a dog near us that was crying the whole day. It was so, so hard to listen to for 9 days, and I was super annoyed for the dogs sake.
Camping can get a little challenging when it comes to cooking because you can only make meals you can have on the blackstone griddle or cooked over a campfire. The best dessert on a campfire though is of course the smore, and every year I add cherry pie filling to my smore and win my own personal contest of best dessert on the campsite.
We also did popcorn on the fire this year and it was great!
It is hard to keep ice cream frozen while you're camping though, so often times when the weather is too hot or rainy, you take a break and go get ice cream. There are so many little ice cream shops around the Adirondacks, but our favorite is Donnelly's, where they only have one flavor a day and it's a surprise to see what you will get.
Our flavors while we were there were black raspberry and peach, lemon & blueberry, and regular black raspberry.
We got in some water playing and kayaking time, which is one of my favorite outdoor activities. Mike and his dad did a pretty long kayak ride where his mom and I met them, we also did a few morning and sunset rides.
We did a few day trips into the various towns as well. We visited the town of Inlet and stopped at areas like Buttermilk Falls and Long Lake

We even saw a really cools eagles nest.
We visited Mikes brothers friends in Old Forge, who were super nice and took us out on their boat for some water skiing and Zup Boarding.
Mike and his dad are avid hikers, and are even apart of the Adirondack 46ers, and I do enjoy an occasional (SHORT) hike with them. Bald Mountain was a quick 30 minute trip up and 30 minute trip down near Old Forge, and we had to make sure these two got a hike in on this trip.
We made it to the fire tower on top of the mountain and I made a new friend with a chipmunk!
Mike and his dad also hiked Hurricane Mountain in Lake Placid. It took them most of the morning to do this one, and they were lucky they didn't come back super muddy since it had been raining so much.
On July 4, we celebrated by going in to Lake Placid town and doing laundry and having a pizza party by the water.
In the evening, we went to Tupper Lake to watch their Independence Day fireworks once the sun went down.
The final leg of our Adirondack trip was to visit Mike’s brother Justin and his wife Jen in Utica. They are currently expecting our nephew any day now, so we wanted to be able to see the nursery and spend some time together (and use a real shower again…).
Jen’s friend was incredibly kind and invited us to their lake house for a day to play on the jet skies, and paddle board, and just hang out and relax, and we had the best time.

Our final week in Brockport at Mike’s parents was once again filled with digging through every item we own and repacking all our stuff for the next big move in our life. We weren’t really sure where we were gonna end up after leaving Hong Kong, but in this moment, it feels like back to Orlando is the right move for us. Mike has accepted a job with SeaWorld, a step up from what he was doing with them before. I am currently still in the application process and am looking for some production or casting based jobs that will fulfill my little ambitious soul. So while we packed our items to move back to Orlando we also were helping rip out the kitchen floor from my in laws house.

We are making the cross country drive to Orlando this weekend and making some stops along the way. Keep an eye out for our future adventures since we can’t ever seem to stand still.
