Let’s give them pumpkin to talk about
Halloween season really felt like it came and went so quickly this year. Not sure if it’s because it’s this is the first time in a while I haven’t actively been involved in Halloween at a theme park where you tend to start those rehearsals and events very early in the Summer or what. Don’t worry, I naturally was so busy all the way up until the day of Halloween I almost missed the celebration all together though. On Halloween, Mike and I were off, so we got to pick out our pumpkin and finally carve it right before trick or treating in our neighborhood started.
Our neighbors across the street welcomed us to their small driveway party, which was so fun!
Our neighbors really have been the best. We had one make us a whole chicken pot pie the other day too! We will have to reward them with a spin in the new HOT TUB we got from Sam’s Club!!
Or visit Old Town i Kissimmee and hope it seems better in person...
The best part was the high ropes course at the top of the building.
Now that I have covered all 2 of my days off during the entire month of October, time to cover my cool work activities. First thing was the day I got off the Norwegian Cruise, the next day I headed to Cape Canaveral to board the Disney Cruise Line Fantasy ship while the boat was in port for a cast member safety video. Best part was the ship was decorated for Halloween and we all got ice cream for lunch! If that wasn’t enough, I was lucky enough to have 3 days at Disney parks following where we shot some commercial material. Boy, do I love my job.
I had a few days at SeaWorld, before I jumped on yet another boat! I was asked to PA on the Princess Cruise lines newest ship, the Sun Princess. The job was going to be about 4 days long with travel, but if I wanted to stay on board and finish the cruise out as a guest I could. I wish I could have, but alas, I had to return home for other work. The 4 days onboard were really great though, and we actually had a little bit of downtime where I go to have some time to myself to enjoy the ship. I took the Brightline bright and early to Ft. Lauderdale cruise port.Peek a boo Sun Princess!
When I did have down time, I was usually in the hot tub.
There were a few honorable mentions about this ship in particular. Ice was a little tricky to come by, but there were a few water stations by the pool.I was not in my room as much this time because they were indoor cabins without a balcony, so I just preferred to be out and about (I did have my own room even though I had two beds).
The elevator used a different system where you had to tell which floor you were going to first, then it would tell you what elevator to use, which took some patience and getting used to, especially with crew equipment.
Food was very tasty on the ship! I didn’t have a lot of time to explore all the dining options out of time, but I visited the buffet often. The baked goods were especially tasty.
We stopped in Cozumel along the way, but we were busy and not able to get off the boat.
The end of the cruise came quickly, but not the end of the adventure. We docked in Belize City, where about 70% of the film crew was getting off to fly back home. I was in the first batch with most of the client and producers, but since we were disembarking, we had to go through customs. Customs came to us on the ship, and they were very, very thorough. We luckily all passed, and were sent on to the small ferry boats to land. We said our goodbyes to the Sun Princess on the ferry.
We docked and immediately fell into the usual tourist traps right off cruise ships. I wish I had had the time to explore Belize longer, but what I got to see of it was fun!
The trip to the airport I spent most of the time admiring the beautiful palm trees. The airport was shockingly tiny and only had about 1 real flight actually going out of the airport.
