you have exactly enough energy for just one day, remember that

My job with Disney contacted me about 2 days before needing some help in Toronto on a project so I scrambled to book my flights and get myself in order before flying out to Canada. I was only going to be there for 3 days total, and most of it would be working, so I would not have too much time to explore, but you know every second I could I was doing just that.

I took the first flight out of Orlando and was in Toronto before noon. I grabbed lunch, which of course consisted of poutine and was delicious from Smoke's Poutinerie
I also had to have a little Tim Hortons iced cap!

I took a trip to Toronto in high school with my choir, where we saw Niagara Falls and we saw the show We Will Rock You. I was blown away to see We Will Rock You just happened to be back in town like 15 years later.

After lunch it was time to meet up with the rest of my team, where we headed to the Disney Cruise Line Toronto rehearsal facility. I was very excited to see this place, since I had never actually worked for DCL in an entertainment capacity, but I had heard stories about it. I can't tell you much but it was really neat being surrounded by rehearsing casts for the ships with various props and costumes and really cool backstage things.

For dinner that night, the team went out to eat at Scaddabush Italian Kitchen, which was delicious Italian food that happened to be right across the street from our hotel. Disney put us up in a beautiful  hotel at the Intercontinental by IHG, and I could even see the CN Tower from my window!
Day 2 in Toronto was a full work day where we were doing lots of filming. For dinner after work, we went to Miss Likklemore's which is upscale Caribbean food, and so good!
Most of the team had early flights back home, except for me and Jen, so we used our last day 3 day to explore. We started our day off with walking to the St Lawrence Market on the hunt for breakfast.
The must eat is the peameal bacon sandwhich, and it was amazing. The Carousel Bakery inside is the iconic pit stop for this delicious treat.

The sandwich is thick slices of peameal bacon, which is like a cured pork loin rolled in cornmeal, served on a soft bun and sometimes with mustard. I think this was my favorite thing I ate that whole trip. Who knew Toronto was such a foodie place!
Also in the market I grabbed some other Toronto classics. There were so many pastry shops and I grabbed a classic pastel de nata, which is famous in Portugal. This was delicious but not the same as the ones in actual Portugal.
The more common tart in Canada is the butter tart. This one tasted like a pecan pie filling without the crunchy nuts. I had another one later at the airport that actually was better in my opinion that was more buttery and flaky.
We took an uber to Chinatown to walk around a bit from here and explore.
We ended up closer to Kensington Market and popped in a bunch of vintage clothing shops.

For lunch we finally got to Pai for Thai food, and for lunch the line wasn't wrapped around the block like it is for dinner. The food was tasty and I loved the atmosphere.
After lunch I was off to the airport. My flight had been cancelled and rescheduled twice already and finally after 4 delays, I was on my way home. Bye Toronto! Hope to be back soon!
Being home, I had quite a few projects I was AD for!
Because of this, I got to see some spooky familiar friends at Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party!
I also got to go on the castle stage, which was so awesome.
Disney is such a fun place to always bump into people. I had a few fun play in the park days too! My sister Emily and her family have passes, so I hung out with them at Animal Kingdom for a few hours.
My friend Ashley from college and her family were also in the parks one day and I ran into them.
But one of my favorite people to run into, especially when I am working, and he always seems to be there, is this cute photopass!
I even bump into character buddies a lot!
Recently, I went to Blizzard Beach with Bethany and Olivia and we had a great time! I haven't been here in well over a decade, but it was so nice!
Mike has been enjoying his time back at Disney, and every Tuesday he is playing on the intramural beach volleyball team with some of the other photopass folks!
We recently went on a date to the Silver Moon drive in to see Freaky Friday and our second watch of Fantastic 4. This drive in was so cute, but I do recommend waiting til it's not as hot cause we were sweatinnggg in our car.
Mike's birthday is on September 10, and this year he was turning the big 33! His parents who officially retired now, came down to celebrate.
He went golfing on the Disney course with his parents to celebrate.
On his actual birth-day we went to Epcot and did some food and wine to celebrate.
We also did a Whispering Canyon meal to celebrate Mike's parents retiring. Here, the wait staff can be intentionally a little sassy, and if you ask for ketchup, you are going to get ALL the ketchup.
Also to celebrate Mike's birthday, later in the week, when we had actual time, we went to Colorado Fondue Company. This was such a fun time. We loved the Halloween overlay, and the prices were extremely affordable. We had both a cheese fondue for dinner, and a chocolate fondue for dessert. Highly recommend!
and it's right near the Kraft Azalea Garden, perfect for a little date night.

One last note on this very long blog post. I was suppose to with Disney for the launch of the new Disney Cruise Line ship the Adventure, as it made it's way to Asia, but there are sadly some delays with the ship and it won't be happening til next year some time. Instead, I am excited to be joining the cast choir at Epcot's Candlelight Processional during the Christmas holidays! So keep an eye out for me making a joyful sound!
