I have a theory that the more ambitious you are the luckier you get
Fall is officially here! Since we don't really experience it here in Florida, sometimes it is hard to tell. Mike and I spent a long weekend up in Brockport, NY to visit his family, and get our little taste of fall, but there was a heat wave, and the temperature most days was about 80 degrees. We still got our fall fix, by visiting all of the pumpkin farms, and having our fill of spiced donuts and apple cider.
There is always quite a bit of outdoors time with this family, which is great. We visited Holley Falls and took a little hike. We got to see a few of the leaves changing their color here, even though it was warm.
We also hiked at Letchworth State Park, where I got to pet a lot of dogs, and we tried to avoid the slippery mud.
It's crazy how fast our nieces and nephews seem to grow up, but we love being in the same country as them now to at least get to witness it. We got to see our nephew kick some booty on the court in his JV volleyball game, and hang out with our other nephew while he took some amazing photos. Love spending time with these kiddos while we can.
Upstate NY is also where we find some of my favorite foods, like pizza, buffalo wings, and garbage plates!Even though our trip was quite short, the vacation was well needed. Bye Brockport, see ya in May!Florida Fall sure may not be quite the same, but we try our best. We have our autumn decor up in the house, and all around the parks. We even picked out our pumpkin at downtown Celebration a little early this year to decorate.
My mom came and visited for a week possibly looking at houses to maybe move back down here, but getting to spend some time with her was nice.Apple Cider buckets provided by DG Donuts.

All in all, it wasn't too bad, and we had fun. Who knows, next year maybe we will see you in the fog!

I also had a Halloween movie day with Bethany and her pups where we baked monkey bread and watched Hocus Pocus.
I had a little brunch visit downtown with some set girlies!
We also did a Lakeland adventure day, where we visited one of the Antique Malls that sells Universal and Disney old vendor items.
Lakeland has some really nice parks to visit for the day! First we went to Lake Parker Park, which had a really nice disc golf course. The next park was incredible, and we will definitely be back, Bonnet Springs Park. This was clearly, newly redone, and it was beautiful. It had kids areas, a nature center, work out equipment, ponds, a small river, a canopy walk, and my favorite, a small tram to get you around the whole thing! We still like to visit other parks during this Autumn time of year.
I was a very brave girl, and we walked through all of the scare actor zones. It was pretty crowded so thankfully I wasn't too much of a target. Mike was laughing at me because they would try to scare me and I would launch into storytelling with them.
We finally did the Hanger Bar Halloween overlay, and it was cute.
We tried the spicy chicken biscuit and the chicken and pork dumplings. Food was decent, I wouldn't say it was spectacular, but we enjoyed it.
We also had a special meet and greet with our favorite Disney Springs musicians, Sarah and Drew! Who are due with baby number 2 any day now.
Even though it's a bit chilly out, Mike and I finally made it to a waterpark for this season. We visited Disney's Typhoon Lagoon for a few hours and had a cute little day date.
The one park you have to go to during Fall is Universal for Halloween Horror Nights. I am a huge baby and do not love HHN, I have only been once about 10 years ago, but with working there now, we decided to go.
I was really only there for the snacks, and they were pretty tasty! We tried the spaghetti and meatball pizza, deep fried carrot cake, and messy sloppy joe, and liked all of them.
We elected not to go in any of the houses, but I did want to see Art the clown who I decided was the Grinch of Halloween.
We also saw Nightmare Fuel, which did in fact give me nightmares but it was a cool Cirque style show with contortionists, aerialists, a LOT of pyro and fire, and magic tricks. All in all, it wasn't too bad, and we had fun. Who knows, next year maybe we will see you in the fog!
On actual Halloween we carved our cutie little pumpkin and I had a Disney work party where I also decorated a pumpkin.
In the evening we handed our candy to our handful of trick or treaters and hung out with our neighbors! The day after Halloween we went to a work party where there was amazing decor and a giant bonfire!
Work has been full of a lot of overnights lately, which there can be pros and cons to. One of the nice things about my jobs is I tend to have holidays off. Make sure you subscribe also because I have some really fun ones coming up soon.
