Holidays away from home and loved ones are never easy, but this Thanksgiving was a wonderful time, and to top it all off, our show is now officially up and running!

We started Thanksgiving morning off with the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade (my favorite part of the day) complete with everyone in their pj's and a beautiful breakfast spread.
After the parade, we had some chill time to cook and relax before dinner, and of course, talk to this special guy.
Each person prepared a dish they enjoyed to share, which resulted in one delicious dinner (and full dessert spread!).

The Friday after Thanksgiving was opening day! There were way more people watching our shows than I had anticipated, allowing our cast to have so much energy and lots of fun on stage. We perform the tree lighting show one time with the Holly Jolly Trolley cast and the Mistletones, then we have 4 of our Cool Yule shows every evening.
All the shows Friday and Saturday went smoothly and we were able to start having a lot of fun with them. Sunday it rained most of the day, so we had rain shows, which meant we were unable to dance for safety purposes, and the park attendance was a little lower than usual.
With the lower attendance, we were able to have some fun in the park eating the holiday treats and riding some rides after shows.
Since we only have shows Friday through Sunday, we had Monday-Thursday completely to ourselves to explore California this week. Monday we ventured to downtown San Jose to visit Christmas in the park, where there are cute, little Christmas displays and community groups decorate their own Christmas trees.

Our other adventure of the week was driving to Santa Cruz to visit Capitola Wharf. We visited Mr. Toots Coffeehouse before walking around the beach, which is an absolute must for both delicious treats and incredible views.
I absolutely did not have the right shoes on to be walking on the sand at the beach, but it was a pleasant 65 degrees out, and it was actually pretty busy.

Ready for some dinner, we walked to the end of the board walk to have some delicious sea food at the Wharf Town Restaurant.

Before we left the beach, we had to see the beach houses Capitola is famous for, and watch the beautiful sunset.
Our last stop in Santa Cruz was Gayle's Bakery, and if you find yourself in Santa Cruz, this is an absolute must! I got the pumpkin chiffon roll, and it tasted just like my grandmothers pumpkin roll, it was amazing.
The rest of the week off was complete with some time in the hot tub, lots of games, and way too much time at Target. As we approach weekend two, I really hope we can remember everything since we have had so much time off. Here's to week 2!

We had some surprise guests during dessert show up with our show captain, our director/choreographer, our casting director, and our producer, and we got to spend a little time being thankful and getting to know everyone.
After dinner, we decided to check out the mall Black Friday deals where lots of laughs were had, and we even ran into our music director!

While downtown, we wanted to check out the local spots, like Philz Coffee and La Victoria Taqueria (amazing Mexican food inside this place that looks like a house).
