if you don't have time for a break, you definitely need a break

Happy May from Hong Kong!

Before Lindsey left Hong Kong in mid April, we had a few things left to do on our to do list first.

We went out to dinner and drinks with some of our friends in Central for one last night out.

We had Manakamana and Mammy Pancake again-

Our last show together was emotional, but she sang like a champ. I was really lucky to have someone so special this last year and I am really glad we will hopefully see each other again in Orlando one day.

We only had about 3 more shows that week before the show closed for dark days for 2 weeks anyways.

After Lindsey's last show, we played in the park and got our final rides and treats in.

We had a little bon voyage pizza party for Lindsey and Olivia before sending them off as well.
Eventually, the time actually came to say a real goodbye and put them in the van. Lots of tears later, they were finally on their long journey back to the States.
So now, if you need me, I will be spending most of the rest of my days like this.
Once I finally accepted Lindsey had actual left me, and life must go on, I did eventually remove myself off the floor. Just in time for Mike and I to get our second dose of the BioNTech vaccine.
About 10 hours after we received the vaccine, Mike was really starting to not feel well, and had a terrible headache, fever, and chills. I was surprisingly fine with just a sore arm and slight fatigue.
We are both feeling better now, and are happy to finally be fully vaccinated

With Lindsey and Olivia leaving, it also creates the path for some new faces to be joining us. We had a welcome party for Sarah and Lizzie on their first night out of their 21 day quarantine, where we hopefully did not totally overwhelm them with social interaction.
It has also been a busy week for them full of rehearsals, park time, and setting up house.
Lizzie and I ventured off to the city the next day for some ramen and grocery shopping.
We had a little get together dinner at Thai Gather -
We had some incredible Mexican food from El Macho-

So it's been a busy few weeks. Some additional fav foodie outings were-
Surprisingly more Thai food, at CoCo Nuts in Deep Water Bay-

Casa Pasta where I absolutely recommend the Arancini Rice Balls, gnocchi, and grandmas mac and cheese.
Beef and Liberty Burgers and mac and cheese bites-

Shari Shari Kakigori Ice House has been on  our to do list for a long time, but we finally had time to go and I am sad we did not go earlier. It was similar to a shaved ice, but it was so flavorful!

This month we also celebrated the lovely Hannah's birthday at Oola's for dinner.

We also visited The Mills for the first time, which reminded me so much of NYC and Atlanta. It's an artists haven, where many people bring their pets to visit.
"Please don't touch me" "same."
We had lunch at a place called Honbo, bragging to be one of the best burgers in Hong Kong, and it was pretty good, but I was definitely more excited about the tater tots.
We also had dessert at a little coffee shop inside called Between Haru, famous for their iced peanut butter latte and the strawberry shortcake wasn't so bad either!
Since our show was down for 2 weeks, we had lots of time for adventures. One of my favorite days was visiting Kadoorie Farms. We did not arrive early enough to book enough seats for the shuttle that takes you to the top of the mountain and then you can walk down, so instead, we had to hike up, then hike back down. The animals at the bottom are all rescues and I thoroughly enjoyed visiting them. The hike itself I will say was not my favorite part, being 5 miles all uphill at a sharp angle, but we had a good time.
No this was not the walk down, this is us walking uphill backwards trying not to kill our legs.
We saw rescued monkeys-
marmosets-
owls and falcons-
pigs-
and monitor lizards-
One of my other favorite days was visiting Repulse Bay Beach! They have a beautiful temple right on the beach. We felt almost like we were on vacation while here, which was lovely.
Mike came to the park to play and watch our show once it reopened on Cinco De Mayo and then we celebrated at home making enchiladas and homemade margaritas.
We have 2 more girls in quarantine getting out in Mid May that we visited to drop some care items to them while they finish up their 21 days.

"YAY" lol
It has been a really long transitional month and a half, and as someone who does not really handle transition well, we're doing ok. I am ready for this virus to be over and life to slowly drift back to normal, because I'd really like to travel. I know everyone is probably feeling this way these days, but just want you to know you're not alone.
