There were a lot of goodbyes at Hong Kong Disneyland recently, and transitions are not my favorite things in the world. Thankfully I have this man here to help me through them because I don't honestly think I could do it without him.
The Grizzly Gulch show with Miss Kitty and all the Star Wars offerings recently in the park had their final shows. Bye Miss Kitty, hoping you find all the gold in bear mountain!
My buddy Push the trash cans #1 fan Dorthy also recently had her final visit-
And I also had to say a real difficult see you real soon to one of my friends, Lydia. Thankfully she is not leaving HK, only Disney for now so I will still get to annoy her to pieces.
Although change can be hard, sometimes it leaves room for new opportunities and friendships.
At least things Under the Sea haven't changed much, and me and Ariel are having the best time.
We even had a Little Mermaid watch party complete with all the snacks you'd find Chef Louis preparing for Ariel and her sisters.
Hong Kong summer heat is no joke, but we have still made time to sweat our butts off playing in the park.
There have been a few small events even happening at HKDL including
International Yoga Day together at the Explorers Lodge Hotel-
and the opening of the
new castle show (which I have yet to actually see because it keeps getting rained out)-
Chocolate pistachio mousse
Strawberry lemonade cotton candy drink
broccoli cauliflower Hokkaido tart
Everything was delicious and really took me back to feeling like we were in America again.
Also, Happy Birthday Donald Duck!
When I am not at work, you can mostly catch me either at the pool (because thank GOODNESS it is open this summer) or eating in the air condition.
Some food highlights this month include...
Brunch at
Elephant Grounds and their incredible Nutella Strawberry French Toast-
Sapporo Ramen (not as good as Ichiran but when you put a stick of butter in the ramen I cannot complain)-
Kabo Burger (recommend the mozzarella sticks that taste just like home!)-
Brunch at
The Diner, which was one of the most American things I have ever been to, but the pancakes were to die for-
Drinks and pizza for Lydia's birthday at
Publico's-
more pizza from the new deep dish pizza restaurant Carbs-
and dessert from
Dominique Ansel's new location in central where they have a new frozen smore! It is basically a huge toasted marshmallow with a frozen ice cream klondike bar in the middle-

A bubble tea from
Xing Fu Tang while having a walk around the (basically non exsistent) Mong Kok market is always a classic-
Cookie Department is one of the best cookie stalls I have ever been to worldwide, so any time they have a new flavor (which is weekly), you are likely to find me in line. This months special flavor was their Pride Month cookie, which is a sugar cookie baked around their red velvet cookie-
But something amazing we had that I had been looking to forever was
Artemis & Apollo greek food and it did not disappoint!-
After dinner we went on the hunt for the speak easy bar,
001, where you have to find the mysterious doorbell to ring for entry.

Another favorite meal night was at
Shahrazad Lebanese family style meal, which was super yum-
fried halloumi cheese (my fav)
chicken kababs with yogurt
give me all the hummus
Also special shout out to Juanita for making Tiana's famous man catching beignets-
and Emma's delicious sweet tart-
Another homemade treat were my homemade
zongzi for dragon boat festival-
Inside the bamboo leaves is sticky rice and different types of fillings-
I also am obsessed with a new ice cream treat we have found called coolish here, which really reminds me of a Tim Horton's ice cap-
Covid cases here in HK are still holding steady at about 0 local cases, but a few imported daily (always under 10). The park is still closed on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but occasionally when there is a holiday or anticipated higher attendance, we will have an extra opening day. I don't mind having the 3 days off a week to be able to do extra activities around HK with Mike or friends though-
Some activity highlights this month were going to the
Tuen Mun golf driving range again-
Where this time I wore my winter gloves to avoid blistering the heck out of my hands
One of our bigger adventures was the journey out to
Silvermine Bay where we did a little hiking (if you can even call it that, it was more of a small walk) and exploration.

Hong Kong Olympic Trail
One of the coolest things over here is the
Silvermine Cave to explore, where they actually mined silver in the 1800s-
I am a big baby and don't love enclosed spaces, but this one only allows you to go in a very short distance.
The final part of the journey is ending at
Silvermine Bay Beach, where we ended up having the whole beach almost to ourselves-
From here we took the ferry home, which means we have to have one of my favorite juice boxes!
We had another beach day with our friend Elysia to the beach under the bridge at
Tung Wan Beach-
We also went on an outing to see In The Heights movie (absolutely loved it! Even though it was so hard not to sing along)-
Since my baby nephew Luca had a birthday and we could not be there to celebrate with him, we had our own birthday celebration where we watched Luca on Disney+, thinking of him the whole time.
Missing our families a lot these days, especially with it now being over a year since we have seen them. If you are all reading this, know we're sending you big hugs!
