Hello again world! I feel like I am starting to come back to life after a very long sickness that would just not go away. Remember the end of June when I was in the hospital with E. Coli?! Well it has been an incredibly long month+ of on and off antibiotics, different doctors, different hospitals, different medicines, and an almost journey home, but I think we have FINALLY are on the actual up. Most of the time E. Coli can take over 8 weeks to readjust your digestive system back, so we are definitely still working through it. I had been incredibly depressed missing work for a whole month, and only being able to really venture as far as the pool, but my doctor Mike has been the absolute best at helping care for me.
and my favorite nurse Amy who also took me to doctors appts, on walks, and to the pool.
Mike and I's 4th wedding anniversary was at the end of July, and although we could not really go out and do anything too crazy, we had a lovely little rooftop picnic.
We also spent some time getting out of the house by going to the movies to see Thor and Minions.
We had very small ventures going out to eat, but of course,
Ichiran Ramen was on the docket.
but you can't have a full day of walking around the city without a
foot massage after!
We celebrated Daniella's birthday at
Babacio, where we had a calzone the size of my torso.
It has been a million degrees here and too hot to want to do anything, but Amy's been dying to see the Alpacas at
GoGreen Farm, and although we were all melting, we had a great time. First we visited the goats and rabbits.
We also ventured around the farm to do all the activities like the bag stamping and keychain pounding.
Mike had our favorite pineapple bun with pineapple ice cream to snack on too.
Best part of the experience, of course though, is feeding the alpacas. We didn't get bit this time, but Amy did get sneezed on and it was pretty gross.
What else to do when it's hot out besides go to the beach! We had a lovely day snorkeling at
Hoi Ha Wan Marine Park-
We also had a little lunch at
2084 vegetarian restaurant in Sai Kung-
before we headed back out on to the water for a water ferry to
Hap Mun Bay Beach. Water boats are always my favorite part of the day.
When we arrived at the beach it was super crowded, so we went exploring a bit and found a nice little private spot we had visited before and had the best time.
We finished the day with a boat ride back, some dinner at Cali Mex, and some incredible greek yogurt from
Law of Yogurt that we all highly recommend to cool you down after a nice long, hot summer day.
Other activities where we pretend it's colder outside than it is, is by celebrating Christmas in July! We celebrated with a pot luck with our HK family.
We also celebrated Emily Cook's birthday with some cupcakes and a pool party!
We also celebrated the fact that I did eventually slowly start working my way back into work shifts, and it was just in time to get to meet some new friends and do some cool new things.
After years of waiting, I finally got to meet my favorite princess, Rapunzel! We danced together in the parade and had the best day ever!
I also got to see Cinderella for the parade as well, which was absolutely magical.
Princess Week at Disney had some fun things in store too! I got to celebrate with Ariel twice dancing in the Ultimate Princess Celebration (
full video here)-
I also got to
dance with Snow White later in the week as well!
Amy and I finally got to have a tiny park day, watching the water parade, eating churros, kicking her butt on Ant Man, and riding Small World.
Spray me water parade! The feels like temperature everyday is 111 degrees!
I finished the day by watching Amy and Mollys show and cheering my little heart out for them.
I am just so happy to finally be feeling like myself a little more these days. Covid in HK is still something we are learning to live with. As you can see in the photos above, we are still required to wear masks in and outdoors at all times. The biggest recent change was hotel quarantine upon arrival in HK is now down to only 3 days. We are still keeping a social distance in our shows and meet and greets at Disney and HK roughly has 6,000 cases daily. Crazy we are still dealing with this crazy virus, and luckily Mike and I still have never had it...and are hoping to keep it that way.
