i am allowed to make a big deal out of the things that feel like a big deal to me

For the long labor day weekend, Mike and I flew up to Brockport to meet our new nephew for the first time! Justin (Mike's brother) and Jen welcomed baby Milo to the world at the end of July, and we were so happy to finally get to snuggle this little munchkin (and Mike took these beautiful photos of him!).

The flight out of Orlando at 4am was crazy. I have never seen the security line all the way back to the fast food restaurants before.

But we made it to New York, and had a great time hanging out with family, celebrating Mike and our niece's birthday.
One of the things we miss about living in Florida is the Fall weather. Although it was still in the 90s in NY, we went to Kelly's Farm Market & Bakery for some autumn treats, like apple cider and sugared donuts.
It was a nice little getaway. We almost missed the hurricane that "hit" Orlando. Hurricane Idalia came and went without really even a storm, not really effecting us at all. We even went to Aquatica the day before, where the park was almost empty, and we rode pretty much everything.
After the hurricane though there was the most beautiful sky-
Glad everyone was able to stay safe. Speaking of crazy weather, Hong Kong has been experiencing some really intense weather between typhoons and black rain! Hope everyone is able to stay safe there as well.
A friend of mine is actually going back to HK soon, so it was nice to get to hang out with her before. I made poor Halle volunteer at EverOak Farm, where we planted tomatoes, greens, and kale and we got super muddy in the process.

We took a little tour of the farm after as well.
Orlando is such a meeting place for people I have met in HK or are going to go to HK etc, it's always crazy how small the world feels. Tony and Emily who we met working at HKDL, met up with in Disney Springs, where we had the best food ever at Chef Arts Smiths Homecomin
Also back in Orlando, we celebrated Mike's first birthday in America in about 4 years. His special adventure request was to go on a classic Florida Air Boat trip, so we headed to Boggy Creek. I was pleasantly surprised at how smooth the airboat felt. It was like you were water skiing or gently gliding along the swampy water, almost relaxing...except for the deafening noise.
We only saw one tiny gator on our trip and he was pretty content hiding in the bushes. But we got to see more gators later (this is me pointing at the tiny gator tail).
We walked around the grounds a bit after our air boat tour, and saw the butterfly garden, the gem mining, and the alligators.

After our journey into the bushland, we headed over to my sister Emily's to have some swim and family time.

Can't celebrate a birthday without cake though, and Mike had a request for funfetti cake in a fun shape, so meet our new turtle friend...until we ate him.
Happy birthday, Mike! So happy we could celebrate such a deserving person. I love you.
With Halloween season in theme park world starting up, I guess it's finally time I announce my plans for Halloween this year. I will be hanging out with the Pumpkin Queen at SeaWorld for Spooktacular on the weekends! The best part about it is, I have the cutest coworker!

Say hello to Ginger, the Pumpkin Queen!
