I hope our neighbors aren’t weird! Or worse… we are the weird neighbors

So I know you have all been patiently awaiting this big news but, there were a lot of moving pieces and paperwork before we could officially announce it. We bought a house!!

We are so excited to begin this next chapter of our beautiful adventure together, but boy is it scary!
Since we returned back to Orlando, around August we began the house hunting process. Luckily we had my sisters coworkers to help us along the way at Wemert Reality Group. Our relator Ashley Murphy was very patient with us as we decided which neighbourhood to narrow our searches down into. Our mortgage lender Jocelyn Christiansen at Home1st Lending was super helpful with all of our weird foreign income and signing paperwork with terrible cruise ship Wi-Fi. In the end, the team all came together to find us the perfect 3bedroom 2bathroom, 1500 square foot home in Kissimmee, near Disney.

The whole process was super fast, and we were in and approved for our home after our initial offer in less than two weeks. We signed our paperwork on almost Valentine’s Day, and had a fantastic celebration of boxes instead of roses this year.

The crazy thing about this house is the man who sold it to us was also the relator, and was present while we toured it. He answered all our questions and had mentioned he was going through a divorce, his daughter was off to college, and he may be off to his family in Puerto Rico so he wouldn’t be needing a lot there. We mentioned how we had just moved back from HK and didn’t really own anything so if he wanted, he could leave things. He took this very literally and left everrrrything. We literally found a house with a dozo. We had furniture, everything you need in a kitchen, even some toiletry items, towels, beds with their sheets and pillows, curtains, light fixtures, everything. It’s kind of insane, but also very helpful. We spent the better part of a week just clearing out the things we wanted to keep and sifting through all the rest to sell or donate. Mike’s family also drove a Uhaul of all of our stuff that had been in storage up there and helped us move it all in our first day, thanks guys!
So now, as I give you the grand (photo) tour, please remember half of the stuff is going to be changed out or at least unpacked, but here she is!
This is the view as you walk in the front hallway.

To the left is the garage and laundry area
To the right is the dining room
You can cut through the dining room or keep walking forward down the entryway to enter the kitchen
In the kitchen is where we finalllllly after 5 years unboxed our wedding plates and cutlery!!
The living room is the one we have the most photos of because it has already changed so much
As you can see it’s been given some updates already (thanks to my sister Emily and her family for helping us paint!)
The living room also leads to outside, where our beautiful patio (and 2 grills!) live
When you come back in the living room and look to the right, there is a small hallway where the 3 bedrooms are. The first two spare bedroom/office space are first, the yellow room and the blue room.
They share this secondary bathroom
If you continue walking down the hall, you’ll find the master bedroom
Which connects to the master bathroom
And the master walk in closet
The whole house is perfect for us, and the neighbourhood is amazing. There is a community pool and playground and lovely trees and nature.
We’re very happy with it, and so thankful to all the helpers who have come out to paint or carry boxes or just visit! It’s been a week of a LOT of feelings, but we are happy to have such a great support system to help us through.
Mike’s family hung out for about a week and we got to do some fun touristy things with them as well. We had dinner at BOMA at Animal Kingdom Lodge, where we had some delicious African inspired buffet cuisine, and our nephew had his first taste of Disney.
Wish we could have seen more of the animals but it was too rainy
Milo got his second taste of Disney when we visited Beaches and Cream Ice Cream shop, and shared a kitchen sink sundae! It was delicious, but massive.

After we stuffed ourselves with ice cream, we rode the Skyliner to the Art of Animation and walked around.

It was a busy week with Orlando specialities like Tijuana Flats, and backyard cookouts complete with birthday celebrations for my mother in law, and unpacking when we could.
But of course, we of course had to do a family trip to SeaWorld!
My Uncle and cousins also got to visit SeaWorld this same week! It was a family fest!
There has been a lot going on as you can see, but we still find time for ourselves. I got to meet up with a friend for a very special brunch at Momas Cafe and have a little catch up, while eating the most amazing peach cobbler muffin.
Production life has also been booming once again. I have been helping out as a production assistant on a lot of sets these days, but finally getting to see the fruits of our labours is always the best part. The show Expats which was filmed in HK finally came out and getting to see some familiar places and faces was super cool.

Below: very close to the screen you see a guy with a yellow backpack on, that’s Mike
I was excited for my first on camera speaking role, but my all my lines except “and” got cut, haha. So listen very carefully for my STARRING “and”:

Thank you so much for all the kind words and positive feedback on my house post! I was so overwhelmed in the best way!Following along with us as we turn our house into a home!
