you have two choices, evolve or repeat
Happy Easter my little chickadees! Mike and I had to work on Easter, but we still celebrated with our Easter baskets, that we dug out of storage for the first time in years!!
It's been about a month and a half now, and Mike and I are slowly settling into the new house life. We have had several projects completed, and even more popping up as time goes on. Already had to have a plumber come out, and next on the list is probably an electrician and someone to repair the garage door. We have spent several hours putting together new furniture pieces to replace some of the things we have sold to match our style a bit more. The rooms are slowly feeling more put together after our furniture additions.
We also made some big adult purchases, like a weed whacker and a lawn mower! I do love to weed whack, but I really never thought I'd own a lime green one, but we definitely needed it for our lawn maintenance.
We also added a new car into the mix, so we finally have two!! This has been a major thing for us, but we love our Subaru Forester already.
Even though it makes me feel like a bad driver, correcting me all the time.
Mike is also now officially a FLORIDA RESIDENT! Whoa, crazy.
We do find time for some fun when we're not doing house projects though. I know I said Happy Easter before, but quickly back tracking to St. Patrick's Day, we were thrilled to celebrate with a McDonald's shamrock shake and a green Krispy Kreme donut. I love holidays in America, even if we have to work during them.
Mike and I visited the iconic Plant City Strawberry Festival, which neither of us had ever been to before. We got there late after work, and only were able to really wander around for about 2 hours before a giant thunderstorm came barreling through. Before it rained, we were able to see them show the livestock, and visit the cows, which Mike loved.
You do have to also get the make your own strawberry shortcake from St. Clements. There is plenty around to eat and see though...But you can't go home without your 4 quarts (minimum) of fresh strawberries! What a sweet outing!
The next day, we visited SeaWorld, which is a total hit with a almost 4 year old, and it's even better when your aunt and uncle have all the hook ups and perks. Uncle Mike took us on a super cool sharks tour, where we got to interact with some bamboo sharks up close.
Mike and I also popped over to Universal Studios one evening for literally an hour to go see the Mardi Gras parade. I told Mike he was allowed to take one set of beads home with him, and we came home with about 30, haha. It's such a fun parade to watch, so colorful, and the confetti blasts are the best. I am not going to lie though, it's a little scary when those parade beads are being whipped at your face. The tribute store this year was super great too!
As far as work goes, things are always crazy. Mike is kicking butt at SeaWorld still assistant supervising the Education department, but every once in a while he gets to come on set with me, and we love those days. I have been super busy on several projects lately. Some of the ones I can tell you about include my first official Production Assistant gig on a Universal Studios hotel project.Wrangling over 400 people for American Sports Story, where Mike even got to jump in and help a few days on.
More Production Assisting for a WWE Slim Jim commercial.
Filming as talent for a Bahama Breeze spot, where I actually got fed and was only there a few hours, so that was a big win.
Wrangling at Epcot for a few days for Latin American and Televisa Network for the show Cuentamelo Ya!
andddd a few other things I can't quite share, but hopefully soon I can show you.
