she was an adventurer at heart but oh how she loved to be home

If I am being honest, I have no idea where to start this post off. As much as I like to share everything, there are some things better left unsaid, and this month involved one of those. So I am just going to say, this year has started off with some real big highs, but also some real big traumatic lows. I am grateful to those around me supporting us and helping us through.

Even before this happened, my sisters and I had planned a sisters trip.We chose Savannah, Georgia as our sister weekend destination, and a memorable weekend was had.  Hilary who lives in Michigan, flew down to Orlando, and my 2 other sisters who live in Orlando with me snatched her up from the airport and we began our 4 hour road trip to Savannah.

We stayed at the Printmaker's Inn, which was historically beautiful with a great host!

The house had a beautiful wrap around porch, surrounded by the large Southern style trees. We had to rock paper scissors to see who would be sharing which bed.

The whole weekend was quite slow and full of really tasty food. My favorite meal was the first night at Brochu's Family Tradition

After dinner we went back to the house to just chat and rest.
The next morning we went to Franklins for breakfast.
We took a little walk downtown to see some of the squares and shops.
Lunch on this day was a hot honey pizza and some fun bagels from Big Bon Bodega. The pizza was delicious, and I loved getting to split things among us to try different stuff.
After lunch we walked down the road to the Gingerbread house and the little book shop next door.
Next we made our way to Starland Strange and Bizzare shop, which I really enjoyed. So many random items in this store to bring you little pieces of happiness, and their steps were really cute too.
We also wandered into another vintage clothing shop in this area, which was super fun. It reminded me a lot of the costume shops my mom would take us to when hunting for show costumes.
Our afternoon treaty was the famous Leopold's Ice Cream. I had red velvet, which was super tasty, and almost tasted like my mom's mocha. The consistency is more of a thick and creamy richness, which I really liked.
After treats, we walked to the famous Pirate House. This house dates back to the 1700s and is supposedly home to quite a few ghosts. We popped into the restaurant to have a look around, and the super friendly staff actually took us on a full on tour, complete with their haunting experiences. We did not experience anything ourselves and although we look scared, no orbs appeared in our photos, but it was an enjoyable time.
We continued our walk down to the waterfront to see the beautiful bridges and architecture the city had to offer.  We also tried pralines because it's Southern tradition, and free samples we are in.
We headed back to the Starland District for dinner that night at the Starland Yard, a food truck park, which I am laughing at now realizing no one took any photos here because we were starving by the time we got our food. We did however run into the Printmaker's Inn hosts dog though this evening, which was the sweetest little baby.

Next morning we started the day off with Auspicious Bakery, which had the most beautiful backyard seating area for their customers.

We drove from breakfast to the beach at Tybee Island. It was a beautifully, sunny day, but it was still in the high 60s and quite chilly.

We grabbed lunch at The Deck, where we had a very delicious southern country boil.

We did a little more store wandering in the Seaside Sisters area, which was fitting. And Bethany found all the dogs to pet.

One of the highlights of the trip for me was Picker Jim's Antique Mall. This place was a full on blast from the past. It was covered in amazing historical pieces, things that reminded me of childhood and home, and just was all around really cool.

The other highlight was visiting the Bonaventure Cemetery. I am slightly morbid and really enjoy places like this with graves linked to a good story. There's quite a few graves of importance out here worth viewing.
Dinner that night was the best burger in Savannah at the Green Truck Pub. We actually ended up with the best seats in the house for their pre- St. Patricks Day parade event the town participates in. It's a snakes and lanterns parade, which if you read the backstory is just as confusing as it sounds. Basically, the people decided they wanted a parade, so they made one up. It was a big ol' brigade of people dressed up walking down the street though!
Our final morning together we stopped at Origin, which was one of my favorite breakfast spots.
We began our four hour drive back to Orlando, and I am convinced we didn't stop talking the entire weekend. We stopped for lunch, where Emily and I shared a burrito the size of my thigh, and we had some delicious parlour donuts.
Eventually, the trip did have to come to and end. I cherish my relationships with my sisters so much, and I was so grateful to have some very important, uninterrupted time together with them. I know how lucky I am to have such awesome role models and loving people in my life, and I do not take it for granted.

Work on the other hand, has been wild. I am still working about 4 jobs, and slowly losing my mind. I have been moving up the ranks on film sets turning into a 2nd AD, which is amazing. I have been able to see and do so many things because of this funny thing that just happened to fall into my lap.

Speaking of jobs, because I am a team member at Universal now, I also got to go to Epic (the new theme park) preview! I had already had a small preview from filming days, but this time I got to really experience it. All I can really say right now about it is that it's the most immersive place I have ever been. It looks and sounds and feels really authentic and it will absolutely blow people away.

When I am not working, which is never, I am getting to do small fun things with Mike. Like Valentine's Day, Mike and I celebrated by going to Pinstripes and go bowling and have some tasty snacks.

We also saw the new Captain America movie, and went out for British food at the delicious Best of British pub- highly recommend.

This month we also caught up with our friends Sarah and Drew who were singing at Disney Springs with their sweet little one.

Not the only new friend we saw this month... we had a surprise snake visit in our backyard for the first time, and I have to say, I am not a fan.
Mike has been doing some hard work on the house these days. The backyard project is done and everything looks great.
We also painted our kitchen cabinets cornflower blue, which I love!
